Dance Outfits: Under Armour Edition for Teachers

Today the topic of discussion is: my favorite Under Armour outfit for teaching ballet and tap classes.

I generally go for neutral colors like grey and black when I am teaching or dancing. I just feel the most comfortable in them and think that they are the best fit for me.

I will admit, I don’t have a whole lot of Under Armour in my closet. But my recent discovery of this outfit combo has me thinking that I’ll want to take a look at more work out clothes from here in the near future. I’m sure there are lots of teachers out there who discovered the wonder of this great brand a long, long time ago and now I’m ready to jump on the bandwagon.

Let’s take a look now at the shirt and leggings that currently have my undivided attention.

Oh, but wait, one more thing. Just in case you are interested in taking a look at a few more of my favs for teaching dance classes, take a look at What to Wear to Teach a Dance Class: My Current Favorite Leggings and Pants for Teaching.

Apart from being stylish and comfortable, this shirt is far more versatile than I initially expected upon receiving it. I love that it looks adorable zipped up and isn’t irritating on my neck which I find is the case with many of the collared shirts I encounter. It’s breathable while providing a little extra warmth in a chilly studio, making it great for cool to slightly warmer weather. It also looks great unzipped with the collar folded down.

I love wearing this shirt on it’s own with a sports bra underneath during the chillier months when I know that the studio will eventually get a little toasty, but not toasty enough to wish for short sleeves due to the outside temperature. It’s also great to throw over a tank top during transitional months when it’s warm in the afternoon but slightly cooler in the evenings by the time I head to class.

Pros:

  • Soft and comfortable
  • Extremely versatile
  • Serviceable
  • Stylish

Cons:

  • Delicacy of the material makes it slightly less durable

This shirt has definitely become a stable for me, one that combines everything that is most important to me in a workout shirt into one top.

Under Armour Women’s Coldgear Armour Legging Graphic

These Under Armour leggings are the newest addition to my arsenal of workout pants. In my opinion, these ones are the coolest looking in my closet. I immediately fell in love with the grey and black combo. These neutral colors make styling it with almost any shirt easy. Whether you’re a die-hard neutrals person like me or like brighter colors, there are a number of options to choose from.

These leggings fit great length-wise. I wear a size 6 pants and a medium in these is what I have. I am 5’3 and I find that some leggings feel good around the waist but are then too long, causing unattractive bunching. With these, I don’t have that problem. It appears that they are designed to end just above the ankle, but they reach a little past my ankles and look great.

Pros:

  • Look incredible
  • Durable, high quality material
  • Good length

Cons:

  • Occasional waist band slippage
  • No pockets

If you’re the stylish type who is always up for a little glamour even when you’re teaching, I highly recommend you add these firecracker leggings to your dance wardrobe.
